Posting

Buy, sell or just give it away. Create
you own local flea market or advertise local garage sales. This gives
you an on-line neighborhood classified advertiser.

What is a Posting

A posting is a short term announcement
or advertisement. It is shown for 7 days, but the creator, when
registered, can extend this time period.

Recycle Everything

Yes, you can pitch that old stuff into
the trash bin. But wait, perhaps someone in the neighborhood could
use that non-HD DVD player or that wool long coat that you no longer
need now that you have moved out of New York. For you its an old PC,
for the kid down the block its a science project. Free trade all your
old stuff. Just give it away. Post what every you don't need and ask
your neighborhoods to just take what they want.

Local Gigs

Let's say you have a weekend project or a one month job. Just
announce this micro-jobs to your local community. This is called
'insourcing' (doing it local) versus 'outsource', sending your money
outside your town.

Just Sell Stuff

Yes, you can sell your stuff . Since it is the internet, your
offer of goods for sale will be broadcasted worldwide. But let's get
real. Shipping stuff via Ebay can be a bit of a hassle. There is a
reason why local garage sales have become one of the biggest events
of the year for many towns. The local commerce of used stuff is not
going to end. We are just blending the two together, the ease of the
internet with the convenience of local shopping and selling.

Pen, Tag & Pin

Pen

Create a Posting. A posting is
content with an expiration date. Give it a title and description
(body). Add a picture.

Tag

Tag: Freetag the item. (example: 'city provided, hospital')

Tagging is how things are kept organized. When you create something and tag it with one or more words or phrases, then both you and others can search and organize stuff based on those tags. These is called 'free tagging' since you the user are in the drivers seat. After a another user sees your content, then s(he) can add their own tags. This allows for content to be self organized based on what is important to you.

Pin

Give it a location. This is 'pin'ing the location on a map. To do this we need a Latitude and Longitude. But most mortals don't work with Latitude and Longitude, so we give you three ways to Pin your content.

  • Option 1: Provide a zip code. (US only)
  • Option 2: Provide an Address
    • Protect your privacy. Use hundreds or thousands instead of your home number.
    • Zip code is required
  • Option 3: Click on the map
    • Zip code is still required, but the Latitude/Longitude on the Map is preserved.

If you make a mistake, just delete the Latitude and Longitude and start over.
